Reminder of COVID Precautions
Submitted By Jodi Houston on Friday, August 13, 2021
Copied is an email from the Intercounty Softball Association President, Steve Warmington.......

"As some centers enter into exhibition games, I feel it is my responsibility to point out the obvious. Our children, and grandchildren, who are U 12 are not vaccinated. These kids are at risk . When we encourage them to play, we must make it safe for them as possible. This means masks and distancing.  Our kids playing infield , with the base runners, are not 6 feet apart . Both the batters and the infield players should have their masks on. Masks should be worn when they are on the bench. The simplest way to address the concern, is masks must be worn by all players while attending a game, exhibition or inter squad.  Coaches must wear masks as well.  Umpires must wear masks. Protect our young players, it is our job not theirs." Steve Warmington

Brussels Minor Ball wants to do our due diligence to remind our coaches, parents, and families of the importance of social distancing, masking, and hand sanitization.  This does not necessarily mean that we need to change the current practices that we are following but is an awareness that as we play other teams/leagues, they may be following different guidelines such as having all players masked throughout play. Brussels Minor Ball would like our teams to respect the guidelines of other teams/leagues and encourages compliance with these requirements if requested.

With Detla Variant cases rising, we would encourage regular reminders to our players and families to self-screen before attending any games or practices. Social distancing on the benches (team and spectators) is encouraged. Masking is also encouraged if kids cannot remain socially distanced on the bench or in a huddle.
