Modified 2021 Season
Submitted By Jodi Houston on Thursday, July 1, 2021
Brussels Minor Ball has been working on planning a modified 2021 season. We have worked to ensure we are following Public Health guidelines and the recommendations of O.A.S.A. This season will look a little different, with kids needing to utilize both the dugout and benches to space out during practices, hand sanitization stations at both parks and masking requirements if kids cannot maintain 6 ft distance when not on the field.

We hope to have most kids getting on the field the week of July 5th, although it may take a little longer for certain teams. Please be patient.

What To Expect:
  • If you haven't heard from a coach yet, you will soon. Some teams will hit the diamond next week. Please be patient with your coaches. We are scrambling to get caught up with all the new requirements
  • Each child must have their own helmet this year. If your child does not have one, please notify your coach as minor ball has some they can provide.
  • If your child is a pitcher they must have their own pitching mask.
  • Back catcher gear cannot be shared throughout the practice. Only one kid per practice can use these items. This gear will be disinfected between practices.
  • Masks will be required on the bench if your kids cannot maintain social distancing requirements. Bring a mask to each practice.
  • Teams must evacuate the diamond as quickly as possible following their time slot. Other teams cannot enter the diamond until the previous team has left.
  • You will be required to complete COVID-19 self screening for you and your child before coming to the ball park. A great screening tool can be found at: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening/customer
  • July will be practices ONLY. Our kids have not been on the diamond in almost 2 years. We need to take the first 3-4 weeks to practice our skills and ensure we have worked out the kinks. Minor Ball will work with other communities to schedule exhibition games for August, as other communities are in the same boat as us. There is NO league play this year.
Your coaches will update you on other requirements that we need to meet. Minor ball appreciates your patience and understanding. We do hope that kids will have a couple months of practice, a few games and some fun. Our goal is to provide this in the safest manor possible.
