Sebringville Tournament
The Squirt Girls Tigers kicked off their season on Friday night in the Sebringville Tournament against Fullarton. Maddy Bernard made her pitching debut, striking out 5 in 2 innings of work. Teagan Hickling came in in relief, striking out 6 in her 2 innings. The pitchers struggled finding the plate consistently, with all runs coming across with walks. However, it was a strong early showing, holding Fullarton to 10 runs and 1 hit over 4 innings.
At the plate, the girls were hammering the ball all over the park, Teagan and Ally led the way with 2 hits a piece, while Gabby Johnston and Cailyn Johnston registered their first ever career hits. Still, the girls fell 10-8.
Saturday morning the girls faced off with a very strong and experienced Londesborough squad, falling 16-5. Some base running and defensive errors cost the young team. We want to thank Sebringville for hosting us, and we will be back next year stronger!
The girls begin their ISA regular season in Walkerton on May 31st, 6:30pm start time.
